We are committed to expanding collaborations with industry partners to ensure that our course effectively bridges the gap between theory and practice. In the MSc Advanced Computer Networks programme, we have been working with CloudMyLab, a leading provider of cloud-based lab services, for several years. This partnership has significantly enhanced the learning experience for our students by providing unlimited access (both on-campus and remotely) to our dedicated cloud-based network design, implementation, and testing platforms.

Starting in 2025, we are excited to announce an expanded collaboration with CloudMyLab, including the approval of two awards generously sponsored by CloudMyLab to further support our students and recognise their outstanding achievements:

1. Advanced Computer Networks Best Student Award
This award is presented to the highest-achieving student in the MSc Advanced Computer Networks programme. The 2024–25 award has been given to Evans Edoka, one of our top-performing students, who graduated with distinction. Evans will receive six months of access to a dedicated cloud-based enterprise network simulator platform (EVE-NG Pro as a Service), provided by CloudMyLab.

2. Advanced Computer Networks Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to students demonstrating the best academic performance in Trimester 1 of the MSc Advanced Computer Networks programme. The award aims to support and motivate students in their pursuit of excellence. It includes a certificate issued by CloudMyLab and a monetary prize, presented in the presence of faculty, peers, and industry representatives from CloudMyLab in March 2025. More details will be shared in our next course news update.

This collaboration highlights the commitment of our teaching team and industry partners to supporting talent in the field of computer networks. By providing students with access to industry-standard lab environments and recognising exceptional performance, we continue to support the next generation of network experts and IT professionals.

Siavosh Haghighi Movahed, Course Leader for the MSc Advanced Computer Networks programme, shared his appreciation for CloudMyLab’s support: “This partnership not only enhances our students’ practical learning experience but also rewards their hard work and achievements. We are excited to see our students benefit from these awards and look forward to continued collaboration with CloudMyLab.”
