Summary
I am a proud to be a midwife and have a passion for academia and research.
I am enthusiastic about teaching and supporting students to develop their knowledge and skills in order to help them achieve their goals of being a midwife, whilst aiding in the provision and promotion of holistic evidence-based care in midwifery.
About
Prior to joining the Midwifery lecturing team at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ, my clinical background included Rotational Midwifery, being a Core Midwife in antenatal assessment and triage, and being a Quality and Effectiveness Midwife in relation to audits, guidelines and governance. I continue to practice as a clinical midwife, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
I am currently completing a MSc Midwifery at the University of Central Lancashire and PgCert Health and Social Care Education at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ.
I teach across the pre-registration midwifery programme and support students in clinical placement as a link lecturer at the Jessop Wing in Sheffield Teaching Hospital.
Teaching
I teach across the BSc (Hons) Midwifery Course.
My specific areas of teaching interest include; Antenatal Complications and Emergencies, Vulnerabilities in Pregnancy, Clinical Skills, Optimising Birth Experiences and Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ, Ethics and Governance.
I am Module lead for Midwifery Advancing Holistic Practice (Level 5). I teach Inter-Professional Education as part of the Enhancing Quality of Services Through Effective Collaborative Practice Module.

My research interests include; Reduced Fetal Movements, Advancing Maternal Age, Stillbirth, Midwives Experiences of Practice and Women’s Experiences of Care.
