Summary
I joined the occupational therapy team here at Sheffield Hallam in 2001 where I am the academic delivery manager for health courses (postgraduate and CPD). I teach on the MSc Vocational Rehabilitation and I am involved in the delivery of the work based learning module. My previous clinical experience has been in the area of mental health. I have worked with adults with severe and enduring mental health problems and their families and have facilitated a number of therapeutic groups.
About
Since working at the University I have had a short secondment with the Centre for Interprofessional eLearning to develop learning objects for distance learning. I was project lead working on a self assessment tool to support the Making Every Contact Count Prevention and Lifestyle Behaviour Change: A Competence Framework. I have recently contributed to an e module -An Introduction to Behavioural Change Techniques developed as part of the Health Innovation and Education Cluster (HIEC).
I am currently working towards a PhD with a focus on the experiences of mental health service users who volunteer and the impact it has on their recovery using constructivist grounded theory methodology.
