Dr. Drew Woodhouse is a Lecturer in Economics, specialising in the areas of Macroeconomics, Political Economy and Institutional Economics. He joined Ï㽶ÊÓƵ in 2014 and is currently the module leader of Introduction to Macroeconomics. Intermediate Macroeconomics & Business Economics. Drew teaches on all tiers of Macroeconomic study, lecturing on numerous Economics modules, whilst teaching on more heterodox economic focussed modules such as Global Governance and Multinational Enterprises & Foreign Direct Investment. Drew can also teach in the discipline of International Business. Drew is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His main research areas are in comparative institutional economics, political economy and macroeconomics. He is proficient in the use and application of econometric techniques, specialising in panel data analysis, hierarchical discriminant analysis, factor analysis and structural equation modelling. Drew uses the latest statistical software, with particular emphasis on STATA. Drew is also the course leader for BA (Hons) Accounting & Economics. Drew has supervised and guided numerous MSc students throughout completion of their dissertations. He is a member of the International Business & Economics Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Group (IBERG), Sheffield Political Economy Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Institute (SPERI) and the Royal Economics Society. His PhD is in the field of Institutional Economics, and his Masters thesis was titled 'The Political Economy of Capital Account Liberalisation in Emerging Markets: Demanding Economic Interventionism by Method of Pragmatic Macroprudential Reregulation'. Drew is media active, with publications and engagements regarding contemporary economic issues such as Brexit, Structural Reform, Monetary & Fiscal Policy. He has been referred to by numerous media outlets and has been referenced in House of Lords Policy Briefs.
