His expertise extends over the entire digital strategy lifecycle, from analysis and design to development, implementation, and continuous improvement.
Dr Caine’s doctoral research addressed critical challenges in aligning strategic management with digital technology, producing practical solutions that inform both his academic teachings and industry practices. This interdisciplinary approach has solidified his reputation as a leader in the evolving field of digital transformation strategy.
His current research explores digital capabilities, digital strategy, and the automation of business and IT alignment. His work harmonises the application of software engineering, digital strategy and digital maturity assessments, thus reducing the gap between strategy and execution.
