Summary
I have worked at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ since 1989, initially as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics and since its closure, in the Department of Computing.
Prior to this I spent 5 years lecturing in Physics at Nottingham Trent Polytechnic and 2 years at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology.
About
I have spent 3 years at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge, working as a Post Doctoral Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Assistant and 3 years teaching physics at a school in Derbyshire.
Most of my teaching is on aspects of Physics to a variety of courses, including Science Education, Sport Technology and Business and Enterprise.
Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ
My academic research has been in the field of liquid crystals, particularly measuring physical properties of these compounds, such as elastic constants, birefringence, order and structure. This has resulted in a number of academic publications.
