Summary
My research interests include transborderism, contemporary border studies, international migration, diaspora politics and international cooperation, with a geopolitical focus on the Americas.
I currently teach Introduction to International Relations and supervise MA students on International Relations and Global Crises
About
I conducted my PhD at the Department of Politics and International Relations at Goldsmiths, University of London (UK) funded by the Mexican Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT). My doctoral research focuses on Transborderism and its policy implications at the US-Mexico border, specifically transborder students living in the Cali-Baja region.
I have a Bachelor´s Degree in International Relations from ITESO, Mexico, and a MA in International Politics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.
My teaching experience is in World Politics, Postcolonial International Relations, and International Migration and Cooperation.
Before moving to the United Kingdom, I was Chief of International Affairs and Cooperation for the Mexican Secretariat of Education and the Secretariat of Tourism. I also worked with the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM) stationed at the Mexicali-Calexico border.
