Defining Key Outcomes in Cancer Prehabilitation

Cancer prehabilitation aims to optimise patient health before treatment begins. Currently, research into the effectiveness of prehabilitation is limited by a lack of standardised outcome measures. Various studies have evaluated prehabilitation programmes, but their results are measured differently which prevents meaningful comparison.

The lack of standardised outcome measures creates challenges in comparing studies, implementing best practices, and ensuring that patients receive the most effective prehabilitation care. By defining a Core Outcome Set, we can bring consistency to research and clinical practice, ultimately improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

Participate in our upcoming Delphi

The study will follow a Delphi consensus process to develop a Core Outcome Set for cancer prehabilitation. Any patient, healthcare professional or researcher from all countries with experience in cancer prehabilitation are invited to participate.

The consensus process is anonymous, ensuring independent responses without group influence. The Delphi surveys are conducted online and completed over several months.

Diverse stakeholder input is crucial to ensure that the priorities of all stakeholders globally are represented and that the Core Outcome Set reflects what truly matters in cancer prehabilitation. By participating, you will contribute to shaping future research helping to enhance care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

If you're interested in participating, to stay informed about the start of the Delphi study.
