Visiting Professor
John Goddard OBE is Emeritus Professor at Newcastle University UK where he founded and led the Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS) from 1977 – 1998. He was subsequently appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor with responsibility for city and regional engagement until his retirement in 2008. He now also holds the part-time position of Professor of Universities and Cities at the University of Birmingham, UK and is also Visiting Professor at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ. In 2012 John received the Times Higher Education Lord Dearing Lifetime Achievement award and in 2015 was elected a Fellow of the Academia Europaea.
