Doctoral Showcase 2019

Shruti Mandhani of the Materials and Engineering Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Institute (MERI) was named the winner of our 2019 Doctoral Showcase event at the Creating Knowledge Conference on 17 June 2019.  Our runners up were Fides Matzdorf and Manuela Paulina Trejo Ramirez.

This was the first year that the Showcase had run and delegates at the conference were impressed with the stands that the students had produced.  It was an opportunity for the students to interact with delegates and display artefacts which actively demonstrated their research projects.

Students were judged on the clarity of their message about the originality of the research and its potential outcomes/impact; their ability to explain the underpinning research aims and choice of method(s); the relevance outside a single field, and ability to excite those working in other disciplines and the appropriateness for a non-specialist, academic audience.

Many congratulations to all our finalists (L-R)
