The quality of our research has now been confirmed by the results of the national Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.
The Materials and Engineering Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Institute submitted in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Unit of Assessment and 56% of this research received the prestigious 4* and 3* rating as world-leading and internationally excellent. This represented an increase of 21% on the previous 2008 submission.
Additionally, we increased our submission volume significantly, by 60%. The REF panel praised the Institute for this level of expansion and our support for newer researchers.
