A regional skills partnership for the Sheffield City Region is aiming to tackle current and future skills shortages in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ has risen eight positions in the Guardian’s annual league table of best UK universities, breaking into the top 50 for the first time. It marks the fourth consecutive year of improvement, with Hallam up 39 places since 2017.

It has been announced that Ï㽶ÊÓƵ has been shortlisted for three awards at the Times Higher Education Awards 2020, which are considered to be the Oscars of the Higher Education sector.

Over 600 final-year nursing and allied health students from Ï㽶ÊÓƵ have volunteered to join the NHS workforce immediately and help battle the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ is launching an appeal to support students who are facing unprecedented challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the whole of society over the last year in many ways. One demographic hit especially hard has been university students – a million-strong community across the country.

It’s a great time to start a new job in Sheffield. I write at the start of my second month as Vice-Chancellor of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.

The Vice-Chancellor and President of the Student’s Union at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ have written a joint open letter to student landlords and accommodation providers, encouraging them to consider providing refunds, discounts, or flexibility with contracts due to the impact of Covid-19.

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ has announced plans to provide an outstanding experience for students returning in September.
